ABOUT

Bengisu Hallaç is a product and furniture designer. After studying Industrial Design at Kadir Has University, she completed the MA Product & Furniture Design programme at Kingston School of Art.

Her practice grows from everyday rituals and the relationships people build with objects and spaces, moving between product, furniture, table culture, interior and garden design. Through Beyond Design Workshop, which she founded, she also develops interior design projects.

Her relationship with design began in childhood, making her own toys with her paternal grandmother. Today, her practice turns the curiosity sparked by a culture, situation or object into tangible outcomes through research, observation and making.

She brings together aesthetics and function, craft and contemporary production methods, and personal memory with shared cultural experience. Her process moves between field research, sketching, CAD modelling, prototyping and material experimentation.
